Creating a drill type image in Photoshop This tutorial will show you how to create a drill type image in Adobe Photoshop in a few well laid out, easy to follow steps. Final image:
First of all, you need to create a new image. I made mine 400x200 px.
Then you need to draw a rectangle horizontally across the image like this:
Go Edit > Transform > Perspective and drag the corners on the right of the rectangle towards each other so that your shape should now look like this:
Once you have dragged the corners together, press enter to deselect the Transform tool. Now go Filter > Distort > ZigZag. If this box pops up, click OK.
You should now see this window:
Make sure that the Style is set as "Pond ripples", and change the "amount" and "ridges" until you have a shape that you like. I have:
Your image should now look something like this:
Now go Image > Rotate Canvas > 90˚CW. Now go into your Blending Options panel.
Tick the following boxes:
And you're done! Here is my final image:
